Look … at the fields (John 4:36)
Thank you so much for joining us at the fall JV vision nights! What a treat it was to be with you personally and share our joy in what the Lord is doing in Eastern Europe. I hope you were encouraged as you heard stories of God’s movement among the next generation.
To keep you regularly informed, we’ve decided to launch a regular E-mail newsletter called “Lift.” Our goal is to help you “lift your eyes” and see what God is doing in the harvest field of Eastern Europe. This is really a “family letter” to our closest friends and supporters, so be sure to give us feedback about what kinds of things you would like to hear.
So how do those fields look? I’ll just remind you again. There are 32.5 million young people between the ages of 15-29 in the 11 countries where JV staff serve. Less than ONE PERCENT know Jesus as their Savior.
At the same time, the next generation is very open to the Gospel. In our evangelistic English camps an average of 10% of the non-believers put their trust in Christ and become part of a local church.
That is why we are asking God for doubled fruit in the next three years. We want to see a lot more Eastern Europeans reached with the good news of Jesus Christ, and many more young leaders trained to serve in local churches.
